FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are you Jennifer Lopez? You know, from the movie?
Nope. That wedding planner was pure fiction. We're as real as can be.
Why do I need a wedding planner?
Because - no fooling around - your wedding is a big deal. It's one of the most important days of your life. And with the amount of time and money you're likely spending on your wedding, it's worth investing in a professional to oversee the process.
How long have you been planning weddings?
RedBird Events has been around since 2012. We've planned and coordinated over 100 weddings, and we have a lot of good stories to tell!
Do you have a minimum budget requirement?
Strictly speaking, no. However, for folks wanting more than just "day of" coordination, we tend to be a better fit for couples with budgets of $25,000 and up. A good rule of thumb is to take the total wedding budget (stationery, wedding gown, makeup artist, the works) and divide by the guest count. Most of our clients spend $250 or more per guest.
How many people work for RedBird?
Gretchen Garrett is the founder and owner of RedBird Events, and she works closely with each client to personally plan and organize their weddings. We also have a small staff of experienced and loyal wedding day coordinators who make sure our events go off without a hitch.
If we choose "day of" coordination, who will personally coordinate our wedding?
For wedding day coordination, staff selections are made approximately six weeks before the wedding. You will have an in-depth, face-to-face meeting with your coordinator to go over every detail and get all your questions answered. On the day of your wedding, your coordinator will be a familiar face. And all of our coordinators exemplify the friendly, calming, can-do attitude that we've become famous for.
Is there anything you DON'T do?
Actually, yes! We don't act like a diva and boss you around. We don't drink at weddings. And unless you physically drag us onto the dance floor, we don't cut a rug with your guests. Beyond that, we don't like to fill roles that would be better served by another vendor. That means we can't prepare or serve food, and we can't play DJ if you're having an iPod as your reception entertainment.
